Are pell grants considered income?

I have to amend my taxes and I'm worried my pell grant will hurt how much taxes I get back?

No. No student loans or grants are considered income. I thought the same thing last year and the lady who did our taxes said it doesn't change anything.

Not unless something changed since last year. It didn't change anything for us. She said the only thing that could change anything is it could get us MORE once I start paying my loans back if I can prove what I paid for books and school supplies. So keep all your receipts for things like a computer for school, any books, supplies, ink for printer, etc.

Yes a pell grant IS considered income because whatever is leftover after payin tuition is given to you!!
