SHE CAN'T SING. How do I delicately tell my daughter that she should find something else to do in the talent show besides sing. LOL

WE TALKED HER INTO PLAYING THE SONG "DYNOMITE" ON THE PIANO. LOLOL. SHE IS SO EXCITED!!!!

WE DIDN'T TELL HER THAT SHE COULDN'T SING, WE TOLD HER THAT THE SONG SHE WANTED TO SING HAD A MATURE CONTENT AND WOULDN'T BE APPROPRIATE FOR SCHOOL. IT WORKED!!! SHE STARTED PLAYING "DYNOMITE" ON THE PIANO SEVERAL MONTHS BACK, ON HER OWN. THE AMAZING THING IS THAT SHE DOESN'T HAVE THE SHEET MUSIC FOR IT, SHE JUST STARTED PLAYING IT BY EAR. WE TOLD HER THAT THE KIDS AT SCHOOL WOULD LOVE IT AND WILL SING ALONG TO HER PLAYING IT ON THE PIANO. SHE IS SO GIDDY. MY HUSBAND AND I GAVE EACH OTHER A THUMBS UP. LOL

If she wants to sing, let her sing.

1 mom liked this

Come right out and tell her. My 12 yr old sings in front of us so one day I say you sing as good as me. He looked at me and said "you suck". I smiled and said, see you sing like me :)

I told him we don't care to keep singing with us, but don't around other kids. but then I also explained that not everyone can sing.

How old is she?

I actually think this is a good idea. I'm going to try it. Thanks

Awww. How old is she? For an elementary school talent show, I wouldn't stress.

That is a tough one. Don't let her embarrassing herself...kids are cruel and that will be so bad. But you shouldn't tell her she sucks at singing either?

I guess your best bet would be to make singing sound like the lamest, most boring cliche thing ever and come up with something else for her to do.
