Do you cook every night?? *Edit with menu*

Posted by   + Show Post

I'm just realizing how much of a pain in the @ss it is to have to cook a full meal every night. lol I know, that sounds ridiculous! I think this is the first time I've ever cooked a full, big meal every night for more than a few days and I'm SO ready for a break and it's only been 8 or 9 days. :/ I got the night off from having to cook and you better believe I'm taking it! lol

Do you cook a full meal every night? I'm talking homemade, meat, veggies and maybe a carb.

Night 1: Roast chicken, candied carrots and steamed broccoli, baked potato
2: Bbq chicken sandwich or black bean burger, sweet potato, roasted asparagus
3: Grilled venison steak, large salad
4: Orange roughy, sauteed zucchini, rice
5: Fish (not left over, gross), rice, salad
6: stuffed chicken, spaghetti, home made sauce, broccoli
7: Steak, mashed potatoes, sauteed summer squash
8: Cashew stir fry, brown rice

Honestly, my husband cooks a full meal every night. I'm sick of it too.

You're sick of him cooking? Why?

I am not judging. I cook but I have a huge pile of cloths that I need to fold. Everyone has areas they do better or more of. Kevin :)

I cook breakfast, lunch, and dinner almost every day.

I almost always make *something*. It's not like we go out to eat or eat boxed food. I'm just not used to making stuffed chicken with pasta and broccoli, then steak, mashed potatoes, and a veggie, then from scratch stir fry, then roast chicken, baked potatoes, and carrots. kwim?

No. On nights I do though I usually make double and put one in the freezer. Then I just have to put it in the oven. Other nights dh makes a simple meal.

Yep.  We definitely dine out, but I make breakfast, lunch and dinner about 6 days per week.

Not a full meal but I usually cook something

I usually cook something too, but it might just be eggs and toast one night or leftovers or whatever.

Well that's something. LOL

i don't like to cook a big meal because that usually means a ton of dishes. I do not have a dishwasher so I spend a lot of time at the kitchen sink. Not fun

I like to cook, but doing it every night because I HAVE to is a chore. lol

I do, but I have some tricks to make it easier. I make and freeze meals when I have time. When I make stocks or sauces, I make big batches and freeze them in Ziploc bags to grab them for a quick meal. I use my slow cooker, so I just put everything in the morning and it cooks by itself and is ready for dinner, and I do use leftovers.
I personally love cooking, it's not only what I do for a living, it's my therapy and escape.

I used to bake when I was stressed. It made us, and the people I nannied for gain weight. LOL
