I adopted six kids  I will never allow contact with their birthmoms until they are adults.  I changed some of their birth names as I got them as infants.

Did you say you were going to allow contact?

I mean, I guess they're your kids, but it's not very nice if you reneged on the deal.

They are yours now. You do what you think is best for your family :)

What are your reasons for not allowing contact?
We're the bm's drug lords or prostitutes or left them in a dumpster to die?

Do you think those mothers did an unselfish thing or do too think they are pos? Did you get them through"the system" or from voluntary adoptions?

What will you do if they search when they are older?

Sounds good to me.

Personally, I think that most times its for the best. Open adoptions seem to be the "thing" now, but I don't think its a very healthy relationship most times. Certainly there are instances where it works well, but today it seems like most bm's expect to be able to see or talk to their child whenever they want.

As long as when they are 18 they can do what ever they please, and you are honest about them being adopted, that's great... My sisters didn't meet their BM until they were (let's see I was 18, and they are 5 and 6 years older than me, so...) 23 and 24... one said it was the worst mistake of her life, the other still talks to her... What ever you think is best, then I think your right :)

The agency doesn't tell the bio moms the whereabouts of the children they put up for adoption. Unless you're in an open adoption you're backing out of the agreements made.
