Mom Confessions Mom Confessions

Favorite and least favorite dog breeds... top and bottom 5.

Posted by   + Show Post

  1. Doberman
  2. Neapolitan Mastiff (not over done wrinkly though)
  3. Giant Schnauzer
  4. Cane Corso
  5. Beauceron

  1. Pug
  2. Probably anything under 20lbs
  3. Labs and Goldens (just too boring)
  4. Siberian Huskies
  5. Most Spaniels

Mutts are always great too :) And there are lots of breeds that I like but just aren't "my thing" so I wouldn't probably own one, like Rotts, Pits, German Shepherds (fur and whiny), etc... cool dogs but just don't feel the need to have one.

I have a pit boxer mix. She is the best!! And my two favorite breeds combined!

Quoting Sarah-mom01:

Pit bulls/boxers (it's a tie)
Great Dane
Irish Wolfhound

Any hairless breeds

I'm a dog lover, I can love any dog, breed doesn't matter much at all in my book. However, hairless dogs are just weird.

Thanks. I am a big breed girl. We have a nearly 13 year old Irish Wolfhound right now. I love him with all my heart. And I have adopted or foster 12 rotties in the last seven years.  One of the days I want to get a Cane Corso, but my husband wants to wait until the kids get bigger. He was raised with beagles, so large dog freak him out a bit.

Quoting Blueliner:

You have almost as awesome taste in dogs as me ;) Nice list!

Quoting Bigmetalchicken:

2. Irish Wolfhounds

3.Neapolotin Mastiff

4.Rhodesian Ridgebacks

I love small dogs. I had a chiweenie who managed to survive being hit by a semi truck. He passed away last summer at the age of 12. I have to admit that smaller dogs are moee difficult to control, but if you get them young and train them well they are excellent companions.

Any dog that is good with my kids, however I will never own a dog who has to by law have restrictions such as Pitts or rotts in my city they have to be chained and in a fence if they are outside and have to have a muzzle on if they are on a leash, I wouldn't want to do that to my dog! Right now we have a lab/husky and she i free to roam and loves it!

Huskies are my favorite. We have 5 of them we rescued from abusive homes..2 of them came from breeders who just used them up and threw them away once they couldn't possibly have another litter and actually survive. They are such wonderful, loyal dogs!
