? So the general consensus is no.

What if the smell of alcohol triggers morning sickness?

Last I checked, men don't get pregnant lol. No, a man shouldn't have to give up drinking when his SO is pregnant... he's going to need something to relax him when the mood swings start :p

Doesn't matter to me if SO wants to have one every now and again. He hates drinking but will try a beer every now and then, so I've got no problem.

That's up to the couple.  My dh cut back on stuff like that, and when he did drink he drank beer instead of wine since he knew that I woulnd't be envious over that.  I didn't care so much about drinking, but I really wanted things like lunch meat and sushi that I wasn't supposed to have.

Since they have no biological need to, I don't think they should do it unless they choose to. I'm not the type to be all "I can't do it, so neither should you."

My ex-husband and now husband both gave up drinking during my pregnancies. It was never discussed, it was just something they automatically did.
