So we were watching a commercial for Canada Dry ginger ale. It shows a whole bunch of average white people in a field drinking ginger ale and a child pulling up ginger roots. DH goes "I didn't know they grew ginger here!"

I said ... "where did they say that?" He says "Well...they didn't. But isn't it 'Canada Dry?'"

So I have to explain to him that because a COMMERCIAL shows white people fooling around in a field of ginger, that does not at all necessarily mean that they grow ginger in Canada or America...not to mention white people also exist in many other countries than just those two. -.-

I also have to go on to explain that because a company is named "Canada Dry" does not mean that their products all come from / are made in Canada. The *company* is Canadian but just because a company is a certain nationality does not mean that their products are. That's just plain stupid to assume that. I asked him where he thinks Walmart's clothing comes from.

Yes, we have these discussions on a daily basis where I have to explain to him things that a grown man should already understand. It's exhausting.

I love him but oh my goodness darling...we go through shit like this every day. Eventually I'm going to just get exhausted explaining simple things to him and end up ignoring and / or nodding my head.
