people have used it for bad, very bad. there are others who used it for good. its not the religion but the people who use their religion for evil rather than good.

NO! why?
whats wrong with having beliefs?
Paganism, Buddhism, etc. are technically religions, but they have no problem with those with differing views and they do not proselytize.
Quoting MyGirlsAbbyLiz:
That's pretty much all religion
Quoting kdizzlej:
Not "banned", but I do think the world would be better without religion that is intolerant of anyone who differs in opinion.

America was founded on religion.
America was founded on religious freedom.

While I can concede that religious beliefs have been a huge cause of conflicts throughout history and the world, my hunch is that humans are somewhat conflict and differences driven. So if it weren't religion causing wars, it'd be something else. After all, there have been many awful wars/genocides/violence based on different ethnicities or races that had nothing to do with religion per se. I feel that if religion didn't exist, humans would still find reasons to be violent towards one another. To make it work, you'd have to rid the world also of different cultures, sexualities, economic levels, etc.
Ridding the world of religion is not the answer. Fostering religious tolerance is.
No and its not something you can ban. People will always believe.
