If you're underage child was on probabtion and you found out they were using drugs, would you report it to his po officer and get him thrown in jail? After failed attempts at talking to your child at that.

Just curious. I had a friend that started using drugs. his parents turned him in. He will now spend up to 3 years in jail, if not longer. Made me wonder if I would do that in that position. I cant say for certain as ive never been there, but I think they did the right thing and I would do the same.

I was amazed at how many people I knew were angry at the parents for doing such.

*I am not referring to pot.

Yes I would unless it was marijuana.  Better to have my kid alive in prison than dead.

Yep. If he can't learn his lesson after getting in trouble & ending up on probation, then let him learn it sitting in jail.
People quickly realize probation is a luxury once it's not an option.
I'd rather see one of mine in jail than on the streets drugged up.

Yes. But I'm a hard ass, when it comes to the kids, compared to a lot of parents. I will teach them and they will learn. Whatever it takes.

I would rather have my child in jail and alive than have him over dosing and dying in the street somewhere.

Yupp. I'd be doing them a disservice by enabling them.

I think its easy to say that about someone elses child, but when its yours its a lot harder.  I want to believe I would, just because it might give them the wake up call they need.  but still...

It depends on the drug.  Pot, no.  Anything else, probably.

It really depends on the kind of drugs and what his or her life is like.  If he or she smokes pot and goes to school and passes and has a relatively clean life, then I probably wouldn't.  If they used needles and broke into my neighbors house to get drug money then I probably would, for their own good.
