If one parent has EOW custody should that person be required to have a bed for the child or is the couch okay since it is only 4-6 days a month....

Depends do they only have one bedroom? What age is the child? Are they just to cheap to get a bed?

I don't know that social services can require a bed, but the child does deserve a bed, yes.

1 mom liked this

I am the wrong one to ask as I think all kids should have their own room.

My stepson has to sleep on the couch when he visits his mom. I don't understand why she doesn't get bunk beds so he could share his brother's room-- especially in the summer when she has him more.

ETA: Money is not an issue. She outfitted their new place with brand new furniture when they moved.

What difference does it make? Is a 6 year old less deserving of a bed than any other age? Pick any age you want.

I think a child deserves a bed, I wouldnt want to sleep on the couch every other weekend, so I wouldnt want my child to either. If money or space is an issue, even a blow up mattress is better than a couch

Whether it is required or not, the child should have his own bed.

We never had a bed at my Dad's house, how much time do you really spend in it anyway?
