I know it pisses you off. Why is grammar so important on the online forum?
Personally, I equate proper grammar and spelling with common sense. Probably a terrible assumption, but I completely skip any post on any type of online forum if it's unintelligible. My internet time is precious, I don't have time to waste it.
Yes, I have no life, I care about spelling and grammar THAT MUCH.
It doesn't. I do think cussing when angry is trashy though.
Quoting Anonymous:I have a hard time taking a post seriously, if they cant write properly.
What is that in the road ahead?
What is that in the road, a head?
There is a big difference there no?
We're you serious about the forth vs fourth thing or just trying to prove a point?
I don't mind mistakes, typos, or shortcuts...
but people who talk really sloppy (not just a little), but super sloppy...
Yeah, it does kind of make you wonder about their education level. Education level often effects our opinions, too.
Edited to add: I will use myself as an example. I know that my sentence structure above isn't grammatically correct. The ... and such doesn't make for an appropriate sentence. However, I type on here much the way I talk and think rather than how I would write a letter or something official.
Another example on myself... I am intelligent, but I don't remember how to use "e"ffect verses "a"ffect.. I will have to cross that bridge and learn it alongside of my kids when we get there in our English curricula. Yes, I even homeschool and do not have perfect grammar...
