Dh got a call from "Mayfield direct lenders" about a loan.the guy said dh interest rate will be 9% and 228 a month on 5k.he then goes on ask dh if he has a car title in his name, which we do not have.he said that since we don't have a car title we would have to pay for loan insurance that we would have to pay for up front for.I can't find anything on this company.does this sound like a possible scam?

A random company calls you offering a loan? Yeah seems fishy.

how long are the payments for?  It sounds like a scam, google the company and see what it pulls up.  If you were not applying for a loan, I would not use them, if they called you out of the blue.

Go thru your bank. If you can't finance a 5000 loan you probley shouldn't get one.

Loan insurance is not necessarily a scam but it is not worth getting that loan. 9% is too high am amount plus the added insurance you'd be better off using cc
