Ive never been a white lie mom. He kept asking so I kept answering. I explained the underground railroad, slavery (briefly its a bit gruesome for a 7yr old) and the equal rights movement.
His reaction to how black people were treated was almost comical. He didnt believe me at first. Then thought it was "weird" and asked if people thought black people had "cooties" lol, ah the innocence of children.
I kinda feel proud that Ive raised my son to love everyone equally and be disgusted by rasicm.
