twins at 5 week ultrasound?

My first ultrasound is Tuesday I'll be 4 weeks 6 days will the doctor be able to tell me if its 1 or 2 babies?

The doctor may not even see a baby, just a sack.

Why are they giving you an ultrasound that early?

They'll be able to see if there are 1 sac or 2 sacs, and they'll be able to see the emryos forming inside the sac. I had my first ultrasound with dd at 6 weeks, and they were able to tell that there were in fact 2 sacs, but only 1 was forming a fetus. The other was determined to be blighted ovum.

Maybe if there are to sacs but that's about all they will prob see

Because of complications with my last pregnancy at 6 weeks

Why the questions about early ultrasounds? 

Here the first ultrasound is between 4-6 weeks. It's a dating one. 

Then another at 10-12 weeks and again at 18-20 weeks. fter that its only of high risk

5 weeks 2 days they could only see a sac with me. No fetal pole yet. Doubtful they will see much. Why are you going in so early may I ask?

I had one that early.  I don't think that it's all that uncommon.
