Have you ever relied on your pet to "parent" your child?

I leave my 2 year old alone with his pet lab in his playroom all the time while I do dishes or laundry.

she picks him up by his diaper to move him and herds him away from things she thinks may harm him. She's more protective than most parents!

I don't consider it parenting, but I leave my 2 year old in the secured front yard with the dog while I clean. I can see the front yard from my kitchen and living room.

My son's dog whines if James gets into something he shouldn't. Like an "I'm wooried about you" kind of whine. He's only 6 months though, so he isn't very maternal.

No... It's my job to look after and protect my child, not a damn dog's.
