When your in a room with two other people and they are speaking in a different language, but both speak perfect english (as a first language). I just had to share that. I'm in the computer/break room at work. They were talking to each other in english when they walked in, saw that I was in here then switched to spanish. If you don't want someone to hear something, say excuse me, or go somewhere else. Ugh. Rant over.

Eta: I would have left if they didn't want me to hear anything, but its just uncomfortable and awkward. That's all

I switch to spanish when speaking to my children if I am reprimanding them.

Haha I heard them say another name, and they said "sick time" so I know its not about me, but its just frustrating! If they needed space, they could have asked and I would have left :)

Jim does this all the time. He is Haitian and speaks English except around othe Haitian people then they all sit around speaking in Creole. It used to drive me nuts but I just ignore it now.

I agree. Not because of that whole "You're in America, speak English" crap... I have no problem with people preferring their native language, but you're right, it is incredibly rude to do it in front of other people.
