Maybe someone can help me.  I took DD5 flowers to school....she was napping but she'll be super excited.  Took SD9 (today--yes her bday is on valentines) flowers and bday balloons.  She acted like she hated them and didn't want anyone to know she got them.  I would have LOVED to get stuff like that at school when I was little.  Maybe theres someone that can shed some light on it.  I just wanted them to know how special they are.

**ETA**

She WAS embarrassed at first.  She took them down to her class and was red but then everyone was jealous and asking her if they could have them.  That changed her mind and she was super happy.  She was downright GIDDY after school.  YAY!!  Thanks for all the advise.

She's probably embarrassed. I would have been. Despite having a close relationship, it may make her uncomfortable.

Maybe the attention embarrassed her.

kids can be embarrassed by weird things.  Honestly I would chastise my child for being ungrateful if it was me though.

My middle daughter's bday is today too.

Sorry for that reaction momma.. Daughters can be tough (not that sons can't be) ... She was probably embarrassed for a reason we may never understand..

We can't do that stuff at my DD's school.
Today was her bday too. I was able to bring frosted cookies yesterday for class snack time. I wanted to go to vday party today but I was feeling sick and didn't want to take it to her school.
I figure your SD is probably at that age where parents are an embarrassment, that's how my niece was at 9, still is at 11....

If she is shy then she probably was uncomfortable with the attention.
