You have to be stupid to intentionally lie to the IRS. Never tried, never will.

Don't do it.
My ex tried. A couple times. The IRS is good. They put Al Capone away - you think you're smarter than him?

No, I've never lied so they can't catch me. I do know people who have and they now owe the IRS back the money they received.

No, but apparently my little sister thinks so. She lied about how much money she made to get a higher EIC. I thought that the employer provided the information to the IRS as well, so won't they notice that it doesn't match? But they accepted her return, and she got it today.
