And I'm purposely avoiding him because I don't want to. He spends so much time worrying about his own needs that sex is awkward and unenjoyable for me. I'm not a big talker either "oh baby touch me there" makes me uncomfortable. I'd rather go without.

Oh yes. That is a mood killer. I'm a fan of spontaneous sex myself. Funny because dh is not. Ahhh I honestly don't know how I ended up with someone that I am not sexually compatible with.

I am refusing activities because I hate feeling that it is EXPECTED! Same with DH! We are both spontaneous, so it works. Feeling like it's expected just makes everything super awkward in my opinion.
