Your answer to this question can save my husband's life!

I have a life or death question, if it does not get settled I may have to kill my husband.

Is the saying:

Time endures but can not fade all the memories love has made...

OR

Time endears but can not fade all the memories love has made...

The reason it even came up is a framed embroidery with that saying crossed stitched into it that is basically a family heirloom.

I found a funeral home with "endures" statement from 1972... lost the link though sorry not going to spend more time looking for it again!

Also a book of saying from some woman dated 1978 with endures.

Tell him to clean the kitchen and the bathroom and you will give him the BJ anyways for being a good sport.

Oops...sorry. I thought it was a pretty neutral opinion - that is, either way is wrong. I found a 1978 Hallmark 25th Christmas ornament with the phrase on it.

So now the question is: Are all Hallmark poems original? Or I suppose a more appropriate way to put that would be were they all original in 1978?

I guess if you really think about it the 'but' isn't so misplaced. "Time improves but can't degrade" is just fine. I still think AND sounds better though.

You just pissed all over my cheerios...

Back to square one...

Quoting xtwistedxlovex:

Neither seems proper. Time endures? No, the memories should endure the test of time. The time itself doesn't endure anything. Time is emotionless; it cannot suffer. However, since 'absence makes the heart grow fonder' endears is a better match. It's the "but" that I take issue with. Change it to and - Time endears and cannot fade the memories...

I don't know, never heard that one before.  Why does it matter?

Oh my god hahaha that is almost identical to the cross stitch in question.

Quoting babybelly25:

I did a search... it seems like the second one wins... endears
