Alone in the hospital

My mil is acting like it's a sin that I don't want anyone with me while I'm in the hospital recovering from surgery. I just hate to appear weak and don't want anyone to see me like that.

am I crazy?

I don't think it's that crazy, but it is nice to let people take care of you.  Sometimes it just takes strength to let people do that.

I'm the same way too. I do much better with pain alone.

I didn't want to be alone in the hospital after my surgery. You need to have an advocate there with you. I think your MIL is right.

No.

However I'm a stage 10 clinger after surgery, all I want to do is snuggle and fall asleep (I vomit from anesthesia.. sleep rectifies that)

Sometimes you just need space, she needs to get over it, the nurses will take care of you.

I refuse all visitors when I am in. I have been admitted several times in the last few years. Dh and my son, only, no exceptions.

You're not crazy, I do it too

yea, can relate my MIL got all sorts of buttsore that we didn't tell her i had major surgery until a week after.  Sorry but the only person I can tolerate is my Dad and sometimes husband when I'm in pain.
