I know there have been a few posts about how many families love their pitbulls. Thought I'd pass on a link that someone shared with me.
It's a good organization that's trying to be proactive about protecting and saving the breed, and they also have education and tips for owners so that they don't unwittingly become part of the problem. Even if the tips are things you already know, it's good to be aware of how many people don't understand anything about dogs but still get them. Everyone can help.
And we can also teach our children how and when to approach animals. To always ask permission. To pet under the chin, chest or back - not the face. And what to do if a dog growls or barks at them - no matter what the breed!
