My Son Is Almost 4 And I Am Just Finding Out..

His blood type.

I will know it at our next doctor visit in a couple of weeks.

I asked before, with his old pediatrician. But she told me they have to order a specific test to find it, they don't routinely test for it. IDK how true that is.

His new doctor ordered some tests and I asked if we could find out and he said sure, and ordered it.

I think it should be done routinely so parents know when their kids are born.

I am B positive but idk his dad's.

Do you know your kids? Was it routinely done or did you have to ask for it?

I remembered mine mainly because I was rh- and had to have the shot after birth. I am A- and she is A+

They typed my son's in the hospital when he was born. Isn't that routine these days?

Honestly, I don't know mine. I was told once, and was told my kids once, but I do not remember. I'm sure it's on their charts and mine. My kids get blood drawn once a year for their genetic condition.

I was informed of all three of my boys blood type when they were born. It surprises me that you do not know his blood type.
