Could you do it?

If your child was dying and there was nothing you could do to save him, would you be able to sign over their organs to save some other child that needed them?  They were a guaranteed match and it would save the other child, could you do it?  To be honest, I think in this instance, I wouldn't be able to do it.  I think I might be selfish about it, but I myself am an organ donor.

I really honestly don't know.

Just curious, why do you think that way?  I think in the end, it would be about saving the other child, but I don't think I would want to think about my child being cut open and having their organs removed.  The organs that I helped them grow when they were inside of me.

Not even if you knew it would save another child from dying?  Without this, they would both die?

If my child was brain dead, then yes, I would donate the organs.

I understand this.  I can see it both ways, and to be honest, unless I was in the situation, I don't know what I would do.

I'm pretty sure I would, I don't think I'd ever forgive myself if I didn't and another child was lost as well.

I would once my child was gone, but i would still do what i could to prolong my childs life. once my child is gone, they aren't going to use them, and saving another mom from the grief i was dealing with would be a small bit of comfort.
