what kind of shampoo do you use?

 I need new shampoo and I need some...advice. None of the ladies in my family know how to properly take care of their hair...so I need some advice from you ladies who seem to know everything about everything! haha

My hair is super extra thick and curly, but I straighten it 90% of the time. It's not dyed at all, and is very dry. My scalp constantly itches and I occasionally get pretty flaky.

What would you suggest? I don't want to spend $20 a bottle, but I am willing to pay a little more than average, but not much more.

 I use John Frieda Brilliant Brunette.  I have used every shampoo there is from the cheapest to the most expensive and this is by far my favorite.

My hair is curly but not thick. I use herbal essence. And sometimes i will buy aussie. Both work great for my hair.

I like loreal triple defense (I think that's what its called) black bottle with red cap and lettering.

I like Bumble&Bumble. Just Natural has a really good line for dry hair and itchy scalp, too.
