Dh and I were thinking it would be a good idea to have dd(16) cook dinner once a week just so she can get a feel for it.

I don't see anything wrong with it. =) My dd is 5 and already "helps" me cook.

Oh yea! By nine I was doing one dinner a week (supervised of course) I just happen to be an awesome cook now!

Cool! I had to cook 7 days a week at my parents house for everyone lol.
I'm actually a pretty good cool now though.

Mine are 17,12 & 9. They Cook together once a week. Not perfect but They need to learn.

I started cooking family dinners in 7th grade ( I was 10-11 yo), my family appreciated it and my dh appreciates it now.
