In general, little boys between ages 8-12, (give or take a year either way) can find the subject of butts, penis', vagina's, and boobs, fascinating.

If you pay attention, when your boys dont think you can hear them, a lot of their conversations with their friends involve these things.

Now, in a move born out of pure mischief, no malice, no deviance, no degradation, nothing but little boy mischief, he grabs a girls boob. And thinks its funny of course.

Now, wrong?  Yes.

The makings of a sexual predator?

NO.

Should he be in trouble? Yes.

Punished to the full extent of the law?

NO

(these are generalizations. Im sure there are boys who do NOT go through this phase. My only point is it is common, and still considered NORMAL. So dont bombard me with a broken record of 'my son doesnt' )

(I purposely did NOT add a third option to the poll. Either you agree or you dont. Pretty simple.

I agree. at that age they are still learning boundaries, and there should be some consequence, they will learn to respect other people and their parts and should be spoken to about all aspects.

I work in a daycare, in the after school room.

I assure you, when the boys get together, most of their conversations are about these things.

Most of the time its butts lol. That seems to be the #1 topic.

Even when playing. They will just throw out random butt comments.

"you landed on your BUTT!!!  HAHAHA"

*adding emphasis to the word BUTT of course.

I would have to somewhat disagree. My son is 8 and I know he's starting to make off color jokes about inappropriate things, but he is much more likely to talk about angry birds or how he can do 100 push ups...not people's privates.

I have a child in this age group and I'm a teacher.

I disagree that 90% of the time this is how they talk...

Some occasional "butt" references, maybe, but the rest of what you said, no, and certainly not virtually all of what they say.

 deviant - no

punishable - yes

should school just brush it aside as "boys will be boys" - oh, hell no

my boys would not grab at a girl, cause they know that mom AND dad seperately would have their asses on a pike if they did

do they talk about it and want to, yes they do

and they look at my VS catalog when it comes in the mail, and they probably try to look at naughty pictures online, but we have the pc locked and passworded for that very reason

would i still be pissed if it happened to my daughter, yes

would i take it to the school, yes and i would have him suppenede from the bus for a period of time, not school, just the bus, and no i would not have him expelled, or arrested

OK I changed it to 'a lot' rather than 90%

I apologies. I do tend to exaggerate percentages. LOL

If this is a S/O of the other post, I will say it was pushed beyond the bounds of normal behavior. I'd be one angry Momma--I wouldn't punish through the law, but I wouldn't blame anyone who did.

It is a S/O of the other post.

And the boy did push it beyond the normal limits.

But I don't believe the police needed to be called. Punished yes. Make sure he fully grasps that NO means NO and WHY (at 11 he should know what sex is by now)

He needs to know that it is important and WHY it is important. What I got from that post was it was a stupid little boy being an ass. Not a boy trying to molest a girl. Know what I mean?

Punishing him within the legal system wont teach him anything IMO.
