DD1 (4 in April) really wants to start ballet classes. We have no issue with this but HOLY SHIT DANCE IS EXPENSIVE!!!

Why are extracirricular classes SO expensive?! :(

I can't imagine. My DD2 is too young for that stuff but I have a feeling she'll want to as well at some point.

No idea, but I remember when I was in cheerleading like, almost 10 years ago, it was $800 PER QUARTER! RIDICULOUS!

Well I understand that, I'm just complaining that it's SO expensive.

Beats putting her in pre-k though since that's easily the price of two extracirricular classes :/

no idea.. we found out that our DD gymnastics goes from

44 at pre-k level

88 at kindergarten level

level one-based on skill is 129

level two-based on skill-160, as well as  200 leotard, coach fees, travel fees, tournament fees..

*sigh.. the 44-160 are a MONTH*  i want her to do well and advance to level 2 quickly, but at the same time I am freaking about cost!

Yeah we're looking around. The differences in places seems to be the fees...tuition rates are more or less the same anywhere I look, but some places will gouge you with fees while others won't!

She's always been a dancer...dances to everything. She loves it and has always asked for dance classes, but when she saw Barbie and the Pink Shoes a few weeks ago, she was hooked and literally ballets around the house everyday now.

Wait until they're dancing as a teen (I had/have 3 daughters in competitive dance).  Easily $1200 a month!
