Way too early

I believe when I was 16 my "bedtime" was about 11ish...but it was set by me...I'd watch my show and fall asleep

I don't plan on having a bedtime for my teenagers.

I don't think my parents cared what time I went to bed. I woke up every morning and got myself ready and rarely missed a day. My grades were good as well.

When I was a teen and didn't work, I at least needed to be in my room, lights off by 9ish.
Unless I had something I needed to stay up later for like homework or work.

1 mom liked this

when I was 16, I'd sometimes get home from work at 9, and then have to do my homework.  With a 9 pm bedtime, there's not enough time to do the extra curricular activities that are needed for college plus all the homework that's usually assigned at that ge.

i didnt really have a bed time at 16 but i did have to turn down the tv and not make too much noise around 8pm because my dad had to get up early for work....but usually i went to bed around 10 pm

I think teens are old enough to decide when to go to sleep. So long as they are getting up and functioning the next day, I see no reason to enforce a bed time.

At that age, I had a 10 pm curfew on school nights and 12 am curfew on weekends unless pre approved to be out later. I did not have a 'bed time' after the age if 12.
