I can't speak for every homeschooled kid, but for me and several homeschooled kids I know, it was the lack of socialization. It's not just a myth.

The homeschooled kids I knew growing up weren't, and still aren't, weird. They played on our sports teams. Just bc you don't go to the school, if you live in the district you can participate in any after school activity or sport. At least here you can.

I'm sure there are weird ones though!

Cool. You can where I live too. I wasn't encouraged or allowed to by my parents.

I was homeschooled from 7th grade to graduation.. so I did establish friends.. but somewhere along the line, I became very socially awkward. That didn't start until I became an adult, though, so I can't blame it on being homeschooled.

 I wish you could do that here! The fact that the schools didn't let homeschooled kkds participate in anything was one of the major reasons I quit homeschooling.
