Mom Confessions Mom Confessions

We bring home 5k a month and are still negative.

Posted by Anonymous   + Show Post

My husband brings home 5k a month and not only are we ALWAYS negative in the bank, half are bills don't get paid. Sadly we don't even have many. Rent, utilities, cell phones, and car insurance.

He thinks it's because I spend to much and I think it's because he spends to much.

I sure as hell am NOT going to cut down on spending if he doesn't. I deserve to get things I want too.

Quoting wkukid:

It's only 60k a year. That's not much anymore.

Actually that is about 72-78K per year-take home is 60!

Quoting twinmommy27:

I don't understand how this happens. Do you not keep track of what you spend money on? do you think money just grows on the money tree out back and you can just buy whatever you want anytime? It's called making a budget, and writing down all the money you spend. It's not that freaking hard to figure out. Jesus.

You must live in an expensive area or have a large family. I live on less than half that a month and we do just fine

net. He brings home $2500 and some change every 2 weeks.

Quoting mommybecky:

$5k gross or net? There is a big difference between the two.

1 mom liked this
You want things get a job. His job is to pay the bills and maybe reward himself and reward you for taking care of the home but if fat needed trimming, yours would be the first to go. You don't bring home bacon so.

Actual pay doesn't help anyone. It's what you take home that matters.

Wow.  You obviously are living beyond your means and need a budget.
