Something different, regarding animals, not kids...
I am generally against ear cropping. In general, it is pointless, painful, and has no benefit. The only logical exception, in my humble opinion, is hunting dogs. I realize that long ears can be hurt by brush or prey and can kind of understand this reasoning, but I don't hunt so it doesn't really apply to my dogs.
What are your thoughts?
indifferent. I have a yorkie mix who doesn't even have his tail cropped! But he came that way & I wouldn't change him for nothing!
horrible. don't do it. If, for some reason, you absolutely feel the need, don't let some backyard butcher do it. You wouldn't believe the number of botched crops we deal with.....
If you wouldn't consider cropping your own ears, I don't think you should consider cropping a dog's ears.
Ear cropping and tail docking are both WRONG. Hounds like beagles are hunting dogs, and they don't get their ears cropped, the long ears as they drag near the ground actually help fine-tune their tracking, it helps contain the smell/sounds so they can follow it better...
