So what's the state you live in and what is the cost living . I live in Ny and its a high cost of living and taxes are awful. so dh is relocating us towards the south where the cost of living is much less

We are moving to Tuscaloosa Alabama soon

I live in central FL, and the cost of living is moderately high compared to the average wages. I make $20/hr and my DH makes $10/hr...even with careful budgeting we struggle a bit. We bring home an average of $4000 a month after taxes, insurance, and his CS, and our bills total about $3500, so there's not a lot of wiggle room. Our rent alone is $1200.

I lived in NNY for 3 years, and I never noticed a particularly high cost of living.....HAWAII, on the other hand, is awful.
