Why if a bm is to lazy to work when her kids are in school should bd have to pay an insain amount of cs? Plus what's wrong with bd and sm wanting their own baby and god forbid they wanna lower cs so that maybe lazy bm will get a JOB and stop living off bd!

i thought child support is based off a percentage of the fathers income, NOT based on the mothers income.   thank goodness i have no first hand experience with all this.

Most states calculate both parents income & if the bm doesn't work they will impute an income of which she should be able to attain, at the very least, minimum wage at 40hrs a week.

I don't think she does. It sounds like shes honestly curious whyit is such a big deal to eveyone why the couple want to get cs lowered because the bm s too lazy to help support her children. They don't want to quit paying cs they just want the bm to do her part in the financial side of it from what it sounds like....

Illinois is the only state I know of that strictly uses ncp's income to base cs on.
