Was that really necessary?! **EDIT

So at my baby shower today my MIL decided it was a good idea to sit my SD(5) in front of DH and I (while we were in the middle of opening gifts) to open presents for her!? How disrespectful is that! I'm all for random gifts for SD but in the middle of our baby shower especially when we were opening gifts for our baby... That just irked me! Maybe its just my hormones but damn I was really smh at that

**EDIT**

SD was included. She was opening gifts with DH and I until MIL intruded. She was having fun and is overly excited about baby and being a big sister. SD will not be put above DD, nor will DD be put about SD. The children, while in my home, will be equal. I have also been in SD's life as long as she has known her father. She was the outcome of a one night stand and BM didn't know who she belonged until DH found out YEARS later that he could possibly have a DD. So I am not the woman who "replaced mom", I've been there from early on.

The REASON this made me mad to begin with is that SD shouldn't be getting gifts to feel included! She will have to grow up like every other kid I know that goes to Bday parties or events and watches gifts go to other people or kids and not recieve any. She will have all the glory on her days and other kids won't be put in front of her. So she will not be taught to be put in front of others.

So call me jealous and self centered for wanting my SD to have manners!

It pry is hormonal, but I would wonder why she would do that.

idk, I think that would have been done at the beginning... and had something to do with being a big sister...

Maybe she was trying to include your sd...  I don't find it disrespectful.

That's what I thought too. Before or after would have been more acceptable

Maybe she was trying to help her feel included..something I would think you would want to do.
