Mom Confessions Mom Confessions

Ugh. She ruined it.

I went in for ultra sound today and I told the lady we didn't want to know the sex of our baby, and so not to tell us. Well what do ya know she focused on the legs and I saw an obvious little "nub" sticking out between the legs. Well what do ya know its a boy.

A little flustered.

See this is my ultrasound, she guessed girl, but almost said boy, it was mixed my doc said girl another doc in the office said boy, and an er doc said boy. Its possible that what you saw was the umbilical cord...

Or at least pretend that's what you saw and move on from there ;)

Very possible

Quoting CeeGee81:

It was probably the cord ;)

Well, she has to look to make sure everything is ok. You should have looked away when she got to the legs.

Did you ask her to verify or do you just want to ASSUME what you saw?

Could have been the angle, the cord, etc.

Anyway, it isn't her freaking fault.  They have to check the "organs" so of course she was focused there for a bit.

Suck it up, she didn't ruin a damn thing!

They cant always tell that early and most will not even tell you what they think baby maybe. The ultrasound tech told me its just like a little like and depending on which way the line goes you can tell boy or girl.
She also told me that she was not 100%sure and not to buy pink yet. She said the same thing at 16weeks. She wasnt sure until 25week ultrasound.

Quoting Luna091306:

Huh? How? I had an ultrasound at 11 weeks and we couldn't tell. :(

Quoting kirstina:

I was told at 9weeks that my second was a girl.

Quoting CDMelty:

This is EXACTLY why I never got an ultrasound after 11 wks. They'd tell me to make my appointment on the way out and I just kept "forgetting" until the bby was born and it was too late.

I would've laughed as well, even if you were right.

To the other anon; I have 2 boys it is hard for me to not say "he" all the time.

Quoting Anonymous:

Psh what a blow it! Lol and it irritated me because she asked me like oh what do I think I'm having and I said a boy because that's what the Chinese calendar said and it was right with my other two and she just sat there with a grin laughing. Wtf?!

Quoting Anonymous:

Ours said "he" twice when we asked not to tell us ugh

Do you have both boys & girls already?

Quoting Anonymous:

True, but I just felt she was hanging out my the legs longer then the rest of his body. She was even like wow you baby isn't shy at all. Boo this was our last baby to.

Quoting TattoodMommy19:

I doubt she was purposely trying to ruin anything for you.

At an anatomy scan, they check growth anddevelopment. That would include the legs......
