Horrible, funny lies we tell our kids

My DD (5) is sick and on antibiotics. She hates the way they taste and has absolutely refused to take them. I've tried everything- bribery, threats, mixing them with juice. She HAS to take this medicine to get well. Tonight I got fed up and told her if she didnt take her medicine the doctor would have to give her shots in her eyeballs. She took the medicine.

I know it's awful. Have you ever told horrible lies to your children?

Before anybody gets upset and starts berating me as a bad mother for telling her this, I'm also the kind of mom that when my kids are in the car they inevitably ask me where we're going and i inevitably reply, " I'm taking you guys to the dump so I can go to Walmart and buy some new kids." My kids understand my humor and gave a pretty developed sense of humor themselves. Even the five year old.

when I was a young mom i would tell them shots wouldn't hurt :(

of course they fucking hurt- you're getting jabbed with a needle and having chemicals injected into your body

now i just tll them i will buy them a treat if they dont make a scene
