Has anyone done this and it was effective? I'm having it done Friday. I am 4 cm dilated and 50% effaced as of 2 weeks ago and i haven't been checked since.

I had it done on January 8th at 2pm and was having regular contractions by 2am January 9th. My son was born at 12:56pm. So, yes it dows work if your body is ready. (I was 37.6 weeks and 2cm dilated when I had it done)

I had it done, it was extremely painful (sorry), and I was still in labor for two+ days afterward. It's up to you. If I have another one and get offered it, I won't do it again.

Yup but it only works if your body is ready. Wasn't too painful, but they still had to break my water at 6cm dialated.

I haven't had it done because they didn't want to accidentally break my water, but I've been told it really hurts but it does work
