Is it that hard to understand?

So I work in an Air Force help desk for computers and telephones. Someone called this morning and put in trouble for their phone line. I informed them that the techs have 72 hours to respond. They have already called back twice. 72 hours people...72 hours.
Squeaky wheel get's the grease.
Maybe they are hoping that by being annoying they will get a tech. sooner.
They CALLED with a problem with a phone line. They CALLED back twice. Hmm... Sounds like the phone is working JUST fine! LOL
I'm not saying that you woukd, only mentioning a possibility for WHY they might be doing that.
Quoting Anonymous:Nope. We don't play it that way.

Just because you said 72 hours doesn't mean people will be happy to wait that long. If he calls you every 5 min all day long I bet you'd do what you could to put him at the top of the repair list.
72 hours? That's insane.

I am not in charge of the repair list. I put the information into a system in the computer and send it over. The computer decides the priority based on who the number is assigned to. Calling every 5 minutes does nothing to speed the process. I can't change it.

Our medical clinic has the 72 hour rule. I find it to be such a shitty rule. If I need to schedule to see my dr, I don't want to wait 72 hours before they get back to me.
