would you have paid this??? *edit pic of the $77 "vermin" for the haters

Posted by   + Show Post

a month ago we rescued some rats from the SPCA... this weekend we noticed one had an infected cheek and his teeth were growing crooked.

So today I took him to the vet.. $77.. to have him put to sleep and his teeth trimmed.. antibiotics. It will grow badly again but next time they should trim it with clippers.. $17 every 6 weeks or so...

the alternative is $10 to put him to sleep...

would you have paid it?

here is my $77 sweetie.. Perry.. his life is worth it.some of you on here.. hmm... not so much.

here is the issue with his teeth.. not something gnawing will help.. his teeth grow mis-aligned.

But you will be happy to know atm he is eating soup and doing well.

Probably. I spent $80 on a hamster I had for two days who had wet tail. Then I sobbed when he ended up dying anyway.

NO!  But I would've never 'rescued' rats....those things are disgusting and I am terrified of them...... and anything in the mouse/rodent family.

Yes, if I could afford it, I would.  I have a soft spot for animals, but if it means that my family will suffer....I'd have to make the hard decision and euthanize.  It's always given me an icky feeling how cheap it can be to put an animal to sleep versus the cost of treatment.  It just aint right.

Yeah, don't ever let any domestic animal "loose in the wild" you would be a lot kinder to put them to sleep. I know of people that have "released" white rabbits, it's idiotic.

No I would not have paid for it! I would have let him out in the wild or paid the 10 to put him to sleep.. ewww it's a RAT!

Nope, I'd never let a rat in my house though. I wouldn't do it for a cat either. I would for a turtle, lizard and our dog:)
