would you have paid this??? *edit pic of the $77 "vermin" for the haters
a month ago we rescued some rats from the SPCA... this weekend we noticed one had an infected cheek and his teeth were growing crooked.
So today I took him to the vet.. $77.. to have him put to sleep and his teeth trimmed.. antibiotics. It will grow badly again but next time they should trim it with clippers.. $17 every 6 weeks or so...
the alternative is $10 to put him to sleep...
would you have paid it?

here is my $77 sweetie.. Perry.. his life is worth it.some of you on here.. hmm... not so much.

here is the issue with his teeth.. not something gnawing will help.. his teeth grow mis-aligned.
But you will be happy to know atm he is eating soup and doing well.

yeah if it gets so bad they have to put him asleep again I probably will have to put him down :( they said the anestetic is really bad for them.
Quoting redbutterfly666:i paid $15 every 2 weeks to have my rats teeth trimmed, we ended up putting her down though because they curled back and into her sinuses

Don't knock it till you've tried it, LOL. They are super smart, very clean, you can teach them tricks and everything.
Quoting GigantaursMommy:No, it's a rat. I really don't understand people keeping vermin as pets.
LOL! I wouldn't have a cat either, lol.
Obviously, I am not much of an animal lover..... unless it's a lab - I love labs :-)
Quoting redbutterfly666:
Quoting ratchetlee:NO! But I would've never 'rescued' rats....those things are disgusting and I am terrified of them...... and anything in the mouse/rodent family.
they are actually more clean then an indoor cat
Jesus, you are cold.
Quoting NiCo86:Hell, I wouldn't even pay the $10 to put him to sleep. It's a rat. just kill it *shrug*
Quoting Anonymous:Why are you letting his teeth grow so long? Give him stuff to gnaw on to wear his teeth down. It's a heck of a lot cheaper.
if the teeth are growing in crooked they cant chew on things to grind them down
