A black woman on facebook pointed out today...

That all the kids with autism she knows are white kids.  She stated that she has never met a black kid with autism and that the only ones she knows are white kids.  I'll admit that my first thought was "racist!" and then the more I thought about it, I realized she was right.  I live in a large city (diverse) and even though my kids school is diverse, it's only the white kids that are KNOWN to have autism.  Have you noticed this in your life or your school as well?

Not true for around here. One of my good friends has a son who is autistic and he is half black half Puerto Rican. There are also many non white students in my sons school with autism.

Down Syndrome is also a white persons trait. Generally, if a black child has it it's a mixed child and not 100 percent black.

I havent noticed but the more i think about it the more i realize your right i havent meet or heard of any other race to have autism. Hmmmmmm

I honestly don't know anyone at all with autism.

There are some diseases and what have you that effect one race more than another. I do not know why that is so but I do know the same is true for different breeds of certain animals. I just look at it like that. Maybe autism is just one of those things that is more likely to occur in white people.
