A Tucson woman arrested Tuesday for the drowning death of a 10-month-old girl was on the computer while the infant was in the bathtub with the water running, according to an interim complaint filed in justice court.

Zada Davis told authorities she placed Winter Breeze Azure in the bathtub and ran the water without using a drain stop, according to the interim complaint.

Davis then went to the computer, where she stayed for at least 10 minutes before asking her 7-year-old daughter to check on Winter Breeze.

The 7-year-old found the bathtub overflowing with the baby face down in the water.

A toy in the bathtub blocked the drain, the complaint states.

A neighbor overheard the commotion and went to the apartment, where she saw the infant laying on the floor.

The neighbor did CPR until paramedics arrived.

Azure was taken to the hospital June 12, when the incident occurred, and pronounced dead after being taken off life support Monday.

Davis was originally arrested on suspicion of child abuse after the incident.

Police added the second-degree murder charge on Tuesday.

Mother Speaks Out:

http://www.kvoa.com/videos/mom-speaks-out-after-daughter-s-drowning/

*EDIT*  If it wasn't clear by the stories posted here the child was being babysat by the woman who left her in the bathtub, it was the child of the mother in the last link.  There was another baby and then the suspects 7 year old daughter who were there as well.  I do believe the 7 year old found the baby in the tub.

Oh, boy.....clearly neglect.  I say this because the story does not indicate that there was an intent to lie about what had  occurred by the mother..  Sadly, she probably did the same with her other child and was lucky nothing happened to her.

Neglect. It was a terrible, but preventable accident.

If it wasn't clear in the story it was a child that she was baby-sitting. Not her child.

The last link I shared was of the child's mother speaking.

But yeah, I'd have to agree. Probably did the same with her child and the other child that were there.

Oh my Lord... my stomach turned...

Poor baby... poor older sister.

and yes... poor foolish mama...

Horrid all the way around... If she is charged with murder, then the 7 yr old will lose her mother too...

I can't even imagine being that mother.

Trust me, I've got plenty of judgements in my head, too.. but I just can't imagine making a mistake like that with my kid's life.
