Your husband hit you....now what?

You and the father of your children are in a heated argument. Your husband/SO is a calm person, is a GREAT father and partner,-and you have been together for YEARS. He has never hit you before until one day he snaps and hits you once.

He is instantly sorry. He begs for your forgiveness and wishes he had never hit you and promises he won't ever do again.

Do you give him a second chance? Or call it quits?

I can't believe it's even something to question. I would leave. That's it.

Um hell no. You don't just snap and hit your mate. You walk the hell away. Which is what i would do if i felt threatened.

Call it quits. Hitting is a deal breaker.

He hits me once I walk. I grew up in an abusive home and once they've hit they're likely to hit again. I would be on the first flight back to Florida with my son.

Tough call..definitely counseling and probably temporary separation (physical, not legal or official). Also, check into possible reasons - new medication, undiagnosed depression, etc.

I call it quits. I was abused and I will never put up with that shit again. I'd take our daughter and go.
