I wanted to get you ladies in put on this.. Holly Madison says she wants her placenta to be cooked and put in to pill form after giving birth to her daughter.. Its suppose to increase milk production and help for the mother to heal faster.. To me it make since because all other animals do this in the animal kingdom but us humans. So maybe its a good idea but me personally I could NOT do it lol..To me I would get too gross out by it. But that is just me.  So lets hear your input on this.. What do you think of this?? Would you??

I could do the encapsulation, but not the other ways some people ingest it.

This would be the perfect spot for the Grumpy Cat "NO!" meme.

I should have done that...

I wouldn't do it personally, but there are quite a few women who do.  There doesn't seem to be any harm in it and may be some benefits.  Some women encapsulate their placenta and others make smoothie.  Meh, each to their own.  I'm no one to judge.

While yes it makes sense. I couldn't do it. And alot of animals do it for protection reasons too.

It also greatly reduces your risk of postpartum depression.

Oh, thank God it's in pill form.  I had this mental image flash in my mind when I read the title:  what my cat did immediately after each kitten came out and a human doing that.  If it's in a pill I could do it.  I just don't think it's neccessary.

eta  Wasn't Holly one of Hef's girlfriends?  Who is she with now?

I might consider doing it in the future

From what I've seen, there haven't a finally been any proven benefits, just rumors of them. I don't have to worry about predators finding my newborn by the smell of blood, so not for me. To each her own.
