dd has problems with seperation anxiety so when ever i have to leave her with someone i sing to her the wonder pets song when the blowfish goes to pre school for the first time

where ever you are

what ever you do

ill always always come back for you

she sings it when she feels lonely and it helps calm her down.

dh gets so mad because he says what happens if i die or something and dont come back for her. then hes stuck dealing with that.

so what im suppose to tell my 3yo mommy should come back but theirs this one in million chance she may get hit by a car?

how do you deal with seperation anxiety with little ones?

should i not sing this song with her?

Tell him "if that ever happens she can sing it to me when I'm in heaven"

I wouldn't stop singing it to her...

I think that it's sweet. I don't see any harm in it.

when i worked at a daycare, i had a little girl who had a little purse and in it she carried a picture of her mom. so when she was lonely or wanted her mom she would take it out and look at it. maybe try that. but if theres nothing in DH past that would make the song bother her, i think its perfectly fine.

We used this book for my son. It's a similiar concept, but she gets a tangible reminder you are always with her. On the God awful chance you didn't come back for her (What a morbid thought!) she would still have you with her regardless of who picks her up from school.

The book is called The Kissing Hand by Audrey Penn and it's sweet and easy for kids to relate to at that age.

Lol. Your dh sounds like an idiot. If you die I think he's going to have bigger issues than dealing with a silly song. It makes her feel better so he just needs to get over it.
