I was so unaware of that. Fuck I guess any random joe can go around diagnosing people then. You have a cough? oh you have herpes.

Schools don't diagnose anyone...they refer you!

Last i knew schools dont test or diagnosis add/adhd.

I am so sorry for your bad experience. When I spoke with my son's school's special education teacher, they can only request testing if the child is struggling academically.

It wasn't the school the person is a family member. She claims that the school can test him and put him on meds. I argued with her until I felt my own IQ drop.

That what I said. But can't argue with stupid. She thinks because she took nursing classes(which she dropped out of) that she knows everything.

well obviously the school cant but they can bring up what they think your child could be having as far as concerns and what not..at least thats what they did with my DS..and then he got testes blah blah blah...and then the school did his IQ testing and all of that.

 your friend  don't have clue what she is talking about. The school can't do that. Once a child has the diagnosed  they can test for IEP to get the help your child may need in school but they can't test for adhd and put a child on med.
