Sorry guys..Yet another home project I wanted to share. lol.. It's only a little over halfway done right now, but still a HUGE difference.
Our front entryway was driving me insane. It was so ugly and we're making our whole house look pretty so the entryway was starting to stand out like a sore thumb. Also, my Mum had hip surgery last year and has trouble taking her boots off at my door.. So we thought this would be a great solution. I scoured Pinterest for different DIY entryway bench pics as inspiration and then DH and I came up with a plan.
So here's before pics..
Everything taken out
1/2 of frame built!
Walls painted light grey and installation happening!
Almost a bench! (Special thanks to my bench testers!)
Making a cushion! (HOLY MESSY KITCHEN. LOL).. I'm attaching velcro strips here to keep the bench top from sliding..Although it fits snug in the space so I probably didn't need to do that.
Where we are now! ALMOST done.
DH is making custom drawers next weekend to go in the holes. They will be for shoes!
And still on the list to do!
Anyways, I'm LOVING it so far. It's super functional and cute! I can't wait for my Mum to come over and be able to take off her boots comfortably. Also, our almost 6 year old approves and says it's the most amazing bench EVER. lol
OH, and eta to add..
Like the title says.. This was on a very tight budget since it was pretty spontaneous!
Brackets: Already had, they came with the house. They are cheap little things from Wal Mart though
Foam Pad: $37.00
Bulk Pack Of Hooks: $11.99
Green Tape & Paint (Primer, white, grey & black for door): Already had from other projects and we used very little of all
Having A Carpenter Husband: Priceless. lol
So far we've spent $97.08 (we estimated about 100$). We have enough scrap lumber left for the drawers.. I already have picture frames (SOOO many lol).. We'll probably splurge on the light.. Maybe 80$.
