I'm Starting To Hate My

I can cook. I love to cook. However, we currently don't have a stove/oven. I'm trying to cook more in the crockpot. I'm really starting to hate it. I'm ruining more food than coming out right. I think it's the crockpot itself. I've used them before. This one is older and things just don't turn out right. They take longer. The outside of the cooker will burn you if you touch it. The lid doesn't fit quite right (which is a big issue).

I put a pork butt in it. It's been almost 12 hours and it's still not done. It didn't over cook either. It's just still on low and not tender at all.

I want a new stove. :( I'm so done with this thing.

Use a grill. Get a hot plate.

You may have to suck it up and get a new crockpot. It's costing you money.

What about getting a new crockpot for the time being?  Something from a local consignment/thrift store.

Sorry. If you're waiting for a new stove you can usually find 6-7qt crockpots for 20-30 dollars.

Dang, that's a bummer .. Perhaps if buying a new stove isn't practical right now, maybe you could invest in a new crockpot .. I bought mine for 40 bucks and it is amazing :)

1 mom liked this
The cord went to pot. If we could switch the cord, that would be great. It's not an easy fix. Most you can unscrew a few things and put a new one in. This one has some built in swivel thing that the cord is attached to. I didn't like the stove anyway (flat top), but it was better than nothing. I'm getting a stove in a few weeks. I just want one now. LOL

Get a portable stove. I think it's like 1 or 2 burners.
