Large women in tight dresses, why?

I don't understand the fashion choice. Quite often I see women in dresses that just don't flatter them. I'm not being mean or judgmental, I'm just curious if they don't care if there are multiple rolls. There are other flattering cuts if your larger, why wear form fitting?

I'm fat and prefer the maxi type dresses. I don't really wear dresses though, I have like 3 or 4. I am excited to wear them in May/June with my 36-40+ week pregnant belly though.

I think many women, not just large women, purchase clothes that they like off the rack and don't really take into consideration their body type.  I also think there is a fine line between "fitted" and "tight".

I'm fat and I wear loose, flowy dresses or skirts. Tight dresses are NOT flattering.

Skinny girls look horrible in tight clothes too, in my opinion. No one wants to see a stick figure walking around.
